Precious macramè needle jewels that reproduce the rose window: an element set on the facade of the churches, that is the highest expression of the creativity and intelligence of artists.
Under the architectural point of view a rose window is a hole, even if it is filled with wonderful stone lace, which creates a special relationship between the exterior and the interior of the church.

It is the largest Gothic cathedral in Northern Europe, 163 metres long and 76 metres wide. It boasts the largest number of medieval stained glass windows in Great Britain. Built on a pre-existing Norman cathedral, it was begun in 1220 and finished, 250 years later, in 1474. The southern transept, built between 1220 and 1260, is considered the most beautiful part of the church. It features a wonderful 16th-century rose window which is very "Italian" in comparison with the typical North European rose windows. Its structure is based on two concentric orders of small classic columns and connecting arches recalling the wonderful "openwork" of Venetian palaces.
